FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado State University administrators say they’ve closed a pay gap among the school’s professors after prior studies showed women and minorities were being paid less than their counterparts.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports a new study shows there is not a statistically significant gap based on the gender or minority status of professors.
After a 2015 analysis found gaps between male and female professors, the university gave raises to many women. A 2017 report showed the problem had persisted but was improving for women, while minorities saw a widening gap.
Colorado State Provost Rick Miranda says he’s pleased with the new findings but continued vigilance is needed to make sure pay gaps don’t reappear.
